hey whats goin on guys....so i did a tune up on my  bike. i replaced the air filter (k&n) and spark plugs. i also had to replace the fuel line since i ripped a hole in it while taking off the gas tank.

well, the bike idles fine, but my problem is when i drive it around the block. through first gear its fine, and most of second. but when i hit third gear it starts to bog down, like its fightin for gas(?). the bike will continue to run rough, and when i hit the freeway i couldnt get it past like 65mph. the bike jumps alot and feels like im twisting the throttle over and over again.

any suggestions? i went back and torqued in the plugs with a torque wrench to propper torque, checked the oil level. is there a certain type of fuel line that i need? cause i used fuel injection line, as regular fuel line kinks. thanks for the help

I wonder if it was running lean to begin with and now it's worsened with the addition of a high-flow filter?  Don't think it would be your plugs, I mean, the engine sounds fine, right?  Firing good?

If you've got a slip-on and now the air filter, you may just need to have the carbs synched and jetted for optimium performance increase,

pinched fuel line?

That's what my money is on too. If you replaced the molded line with a piece of tube from autozone it's possible it's being pinched. The molded line is a wierd shape so that fuel can flow freely from the petcock to the filter.

they should be pregapped i believe those take cr9eh-9.  the 9 at the end is the gap which would be about 36 thousands of a gap.  which is what should be recomended for the bike in stock form.  the plugs would need to be gaped if you require a smaller gap or a bigger gap.

always check the gap, never trust that its pergapped correctly. but I doubt thats what is causing this.
