Actually a number of mechanical changes were made in 2002, but since then nothing has been done but a new color.

well they just changed the colors really, i mean a complete body change. i heard that honda is changing alot of their designs for 2007. but not sure on that

This kid we used to ride with had one....it sounded like a beast, but I liked it!

I'd be really surprised of honda persues changing the RC51 or even making it anymore until they have a breakthrough in technology that allows for them to constitute the price tag. The last time i was in a honda dealership which was august 2005, they still had a brand new 0 miles 2004 hayden replica still on the floor. They just cant sell them now. The v-twins are at a plateau on power and weight reduction and iIts not just honda. The TLs and Ducatis are experiencing the same problems.
