Gainesville, too, man - couple months here.  Supposedly you have to head out of town on Archer toward Cedar Key, that's supposedly nice near the ocean (gonna go ride it in about an hour, actually).  Also, I've heard from several people that Ocala is a bike hotbed - take the Ocala exit and head opposite town (east) and there's supposedly a bunch of stunters that hang out in Wal-Mart's parking lot on Thursdays and Fridays - while that's not exactly riding twisties, there are supposedly plenty of regular riders (read: not stuntnuts) there, so you could get more info from them.

Those guys are based a little more south of here, it seems, but they have some useful info, as well.  We'll have to take a ride out of town at some point and find something good.  I've seen a few online sites that detail the best spots to ride state-by-state; I need to refind the webpage for you.

Nice to see theres someone else on this site from gainesville.  I went on archer towards cedar key one day but didnt go very far.  Im planning on going all the way to the gulf, maybe this weekend sometime.  Thanks for all the info, I found a site "motorcycle roads" in google brings it up as one of the first hits.  I rode highway 320 last weekend which wasnt all that bad.  Theres some nice scenery around here, I just moved from PA and it's really different.  Ocala National Forest is on the list of places to visit.

If you see me say whats up sometime, maybe we can plan something.  Im not really into stunting and all that crazy stuff on public roads but Im always up for a good ride.  I'll keep an eye out for your bike.

Ryan

Hey, sorry, I've been off the site for a few very busy weeks.  A buddy of mine (with an R1 1000) is taking me out tonight or tomorrow - he's gonna show me a few roads that are "so twisty they aren't on the maps;" I'll give you and update after running the CBR900 after him for a few hrs. :)
Take care,

Dave

PS - first time out w/him and in Gainesville; will invite you to join after a ride or two, cool?

Oh thats cool, let me know where you guys go to.  I looked at the maps forever and couldnt find much worth going to.  I dont know how well I can keep up with a 1000 and a 900 but I definitely wouldnt mind tagging along.  I havent had the most experience in the twisties and like to keep it under control on public roads but I'll give it a shot.  Let me know how it goes and what roads you find!
