also if you have a wireless modem in your house buy the wireless internet adapater.. that way you can play it in any room in the house and dont have to worry about running a huge cable all over the place

you shouldn't lag on a wireless....wireless is 54mb/s (if it's 802.11g) and 11mb/s (if 802.11b)....your dsl line or cable line at best is probably 3mb/s (i know some of you suck and are better).....so really, the wireless won't be a bottle neck.... the only thing you have to worry about wireless is if someone else is using it at the same time but even still, you have plenty of extra bandwidth with g and enough with b.....so unless the signal is bad (meaning just the wireless signal)....you shouldn't have a problem...if the signal is low, then all you need to do is get a booster, an extender, or move the thing closer...lol the only REAL reason to have it connected directly is if #1 you're cheap (like me), and #2 you use the x360 as a media center extender for windows media center (meaning you stream music and videos from another pc through the x360 - also me)

ffingers got it, I was gonna say, wireless is 54mb, that is plenty fast for the connections we get here in the good ol usa, unless you running a direct oc256 or something, lol. even at my work we have a direct fiber line, but it is only 3mb, and my roadrunner at home is only 7mb. so yeah, i have not messed with the media center in the 360 yet, how easy is it to setup and stream?

oh man the media extender is DA BOMB!!! lol.... so there are a couple ways to do it.... let me preface this by saying i used to have a media pc hooked directly to my HDTV and had an external USB infrared receiver to control the PC like a set-top box....it was okay, but slightly clunky at times as you need a keyboard when you are not at a GUI interface.... when i got the x360 i moved the PC into the office, the x360 and media pc are on the same network....i set up sharing between the two and voila....there it was...you can then go to the media blade of the 360 dashboard and click music and do it from computer...(to set it up you need to allow sharing and maybe a code, i don't remember)...it's a SIMPLE interface meaning you can just sort by ID3 tags and it's just a listing with a visualization that's on during the music which you can put on full screen.... it's quick and dirty and works like a charm....BUT...if you want a cool experience... if you have windows media center, which is included in Vista...(which i added to my media PC solely for this reason)....you enable media center on the 360 (set it up with a code on both the pc and 360) and the screen turns into a beautiful GUI to play with, with album art, videos streaming, everything....works AWESOME, with no lag for me....it's great...maybe i'll take a pic of what it looks like... if you have any questions about it let me know...i also found a way to stream saved DVD from a media PC to the 360....it doesn't like to do that natively

easy doo-doo....either a router with a builtin hub or switch and run ethernet lines to each....or a wireless router and either one or both of the 360s having a wireless card....
