Just wanted to get an idea of how many street riders we have and how many track day guys, racers etc.

well right now i am primarily a street-commute type guy, but i picked other only because i am beginning to ride more aggressively...i try and ride beyond commuting....plus i am anticipating starting next season, i'll be doing some track days....

my bike isn't a track bike...actually it's become a little bit of a show bike, but i did put on a new exhaust, not a full-system and will be doing a 520 conversion shortly on it and putting on a power commander probably early next season as well....

when i start doing track days, i am going to get a set of track plastics that i am not afraid to rash up a bit if something happens and will be painting my street/show plastics...

so....i don't know if other was the right choice...lol

btw...bmg...i know you race....have any opinions on EK MVXz chains?

I do not race on a track. Hell I've only been to one real track day.

I do not race....except for money, or when some dude blows past me on say a GSXR by about 10-15mph, and I don't like it.

Then machismo kicks in. He may have a 10 year newer bike, but once we hit a ton, and it gets crazy...they always back off.

Crazy will make up for about 20-25 bhp.

I do not condone this.

In fact, except for me, I don't recommend it at all.

Good luck on your bike.

If I count the miles on weekly miles...
weekend miles about 300miles(average short rides)...
commute miles about 200 miles a week...
track miles about 500 miles a YEAR!...can't afford more than this...

If I could find a TD comapany, (besides the one I am slowly working on) that actually has a set schedule...I'm all for it.

Getting a car late this month, which will be my main transpo...turning my bike into a 90% track day bike.

I avaerage about 180 communting mils a week. Something is just wrong about wasting a sportbike for work.

I don't ride on the street at all.  It's been at least 3 years since I've ridden on the street.  I spend about 2-3 weekends a month doing either a trackday or racing.

i do most of my riding on the street sport...only commute every once in a while since my car makes a better commuter(its a hybrid, 65+ mpg, as opposed to 40 mpg on my bike)...and i do as many TD's as i can afford, which isnt many, but TD's are definitly addicting

The last few years it's been primarily racing, with a some track days thrown and very little street (my poor ducati...).  But next year I'll primarily be doing track days, and no racing as I had a scary accident about a month ago during race practice that left me pretty beat up and broken, and my wife really not happy.  So I decided to take a year off from racing.
