can anyone tell me what the effects would be of going to a larger front and rear tire? width not height

its for street riding and county roads with lots of twistys would i gain better traction / control with a wider tire or should i just stay with the stock tires for a f3?

thanks for any help that could be sent my way :)

When I picked up my bike, the previous owner put a 190 on the back. When I changed back to a 180, the bike was alive again. Much more flickable and much better in corners. Honda designed the bike to take a certain size tire and messing with that will only degrade the handling characteristics of the bike. Now, if you were drag racing, I could understand the need for a wider tire, but for the twisties, you won't need it.

thank you,, I wasn't for sure.
I like the (look) of a wider tire, but looks are not what I'm going for in this department, I want it to be more responsive without a doubt. I have a 180 on the rear 120 in the front now and it feels like I'm on a Harley trying to ride twistys, lol thought it might have just been the way the bike handled,,
factory says I should have a 120-60 17 front and a 160-60-17 rear

put on the size that is supposed to be on it. I had a 190 on the rear of my f4 by accident it was supposed to have a 180. it didn't want to turn in and stay turned in i constantly had to use force on the bars at full lean thats not good. only harleys and choppers go bigger because they don't handle good to begin with.

I have had a 180 On my F3 since I've had it and I really don't like how it acts in corners. Almost like you have to fight it to get down, so I'm putting a stock size 160 on it this season.

I'm running stock sizes. Previous owner had 180 on the rear, but I only did the freeway commute home with it so I can't really compare.

The designers put years of research into the bike and designed it to have specific tire sizes; the sizes it came with. I doubt you'd gain any performance going bigger.
