Hmm reading the post about the vacum on the tank made me wonder. I just got a new tank and fairings for my f2. The tank and fairings are from a 98 f3 I believe. The tank doesn't have a vacum tube on it so I didn't really worry too much about it. However, my bike has started cutting out and turning off recently and I believe that might be a cause. I also replaced my battery and regulator but the bike still turns off randomly. It seems like an electical problem but I'm not sure anymore. I am thinking I should clean the carbs and other misc., but any ideas would be useful as everything from changing the plugs to the battery hasn't worked.
