i was riding yesterday, and i noticed when i would hit a bump, every gauge with a needle on my bike would bounce down, and come back up, the odometer would flip on and off too

any clues?
there is still power when this happens, the lights behind the gauges stay on

Sounds like you have a short or loose conection somewhere....

sounds like a bad ground to loose everything like that or just a bad connection like cbr600 said, could be a bad solder joint in the cluster itself but i doubt it

I bet your connector is dirty or loose. My car had a similar problem, and when I would hit a bump, the entire gauge cluster would turn off, and then flicker. I took out the gauge cluster and found the connections were loose. I would try that first, and if it still does it, check the ground like §T®ÈÈT¿ÐÈMOÑ said.

ok so i finally laid hands on my bike. i started at the battery. the positive cable's bolt had come undone. the bolt was still through, but there was no nut on  it to keep it in place. got a new one, fixed the problem. ta da
