yes those are completely diff bikes. the r6 is more sporty while the 600r is a standard bike.

very similar to the cbr600rr vs. f4i comparison if you are familiar with these bikes.

They make the YZF -Rs which is the R1 and R6 but they also make a more street oriented YZF 600 with no R on the end.

I almost bought the 2006 r6 yellow and black 50th Anniversary but it was to expensive. they want almost 10,000 list for a new R6. Mind you h just sold my ATV and it was a yammie abd I loved it but thats two totally different catagories.

The 600r is much older technology than the R6 - for example it has carbs rather than fuel injection. Kind of like how the Honda 599 standard uses the old f3 engine.

it still doesnt have the zx-6r beat, but if you're looking purely at 600cc's then yea, its got the zx-6rr taken care of. the r6 is definetely a nice bike, but its not everything yamaha wanted you to believe pre-release, for one, sorry to tell you, it doesnt redline at 17k, they cut it back to 16ish and from what i understood, they peaked around 14 anyway. lol also.... i had a $500 deposit on a raven 06 r6, but the yamaha dealer wanted to dick me around about when it was coming, or wether or not the first one in was mine and other bs. still like em a lot though
