Just like elmer said there is a how to on this site just search carbs and it will come up. Its great with pictures and so on. I looked at that and was able to do the carb clean very easily.

I'm not going to say it was a piece of cake, but I did get it on and looking good. Nope - no wrinkles. The f2 seat will be way easier because it doesn't curve up in the front (where your balls are) like the ninja seat did. You just throw the new cover in the dryer for a little while to warm it up. And then you get your staple gun out, and start stapling and stretching. It might take a time or two to get it perfectly centered, but you'll like it alot!

Sorry to hijack here...

EmptyWallet, do the carbs yourself. You'll gain confidence in knowing you did it on your own (or with the help of your buddy).

right now I have a few dollars saved for this bike.

but I'm also seriously considering just saving my money and helping my wife and i rebuild our savings, esp. with our move from one apt to another. we're buying a lot of furniture, etc.

Changing the carbs out yourself should cost you about...oh, I'd say probably $0.00

Just wanted to give everyone an update

My wife and I just moved into our new apartment, and we're really busy unpacking and tossing out a ton of cardboard moving boxes.

Right now I pledged to myself that I would work a lot of extra jobs and save money for our future.

Until I reach my own set goal of $$ saved, I won't be touching my bike or even looking at it.

No time to work on it, or to have a friend help me as I'll try to work extra jobs every chance I get.

Is there anything I should do to the bike to make sure it's ok? I took out the battery and charge it every now and then. I check it with a voltmeter.

What about the rest of the fluids in the bike? I don't care if the tires get flat, they are toast anyway.

change oil and coolant (cheap and quick) if there's fuel in the tank top it up and add fuel stabilizer to keep the tank from rusting and the fuel from going bad, if the battery is good put it on a trickle charger.

anybody else know something I'm forgetting?

Thanks for the advice! That is a good idea of filling the tank, it's nearly empty now.

I'll get some fuel stabilizer too. Now I have an excuse to fiddle with the f2 one last time

I've always wanted a bike in that color scheme. White rims look awesome I agree, but man they're a pain in the butt to clean
