well after all the smack i talked about how good of a rider i am i laid my bike down last night.....i cracked the stater cover, broke off a swingarm slider, and slightly scratched my front cowl...the sliders saved my fairings....well thank god i was only doing about 20 mph...but i think i took the most of the dammage..brused ribs, road rash at knee elbow shoulder and ribs......,.this was a one time deal that i did not wear my jacket....i was going to the store and i took a corner and hit a small sand spot...so i guess my question is....i broke almost all the tabs holding my headlight to the front cowl...any ideas on fixing them or securing the headlight....

well i dont know about cold tires...i had just got off of it about 30 min earlier from riding twisties....i dont know how long it takes for them to cool down....i can only twisty tie it in so many places considering the front cowl is the only thing it bolts too....minus the two little nipples that go into the front upper bracket...but dont get me wrong the bike took minimal damage considering it could have been a lot worse....i friend of mine laid his over at the same speed into a curb and the bike shattered into about 50 pieces...so i consider myself lucky.....the wife went to newyork for a couple of days and took the digital camera....when she gets back i will try to post some pics of the damage...

well as far as the jacket goes...it was the first time in a long time i went without one....and the pics i am more than capable of handling...my last wreck on my r1 i was doing about 120 and i had more body damage on this wreck than that one....but i was in full gear and just slid down the freeway...

I never leave the yard on my bike without my jacket/gloves and helmet. NEVER!!! just when you think you dont need it is when you will need it. Remember that. Glad you ok tho. Fix it right tho or it will come back to haunt you.
