are you kidding me? that shit sounds awesome, you dont even have to turn your head to know that a duc is right next to you. then it is definite that i would get the 848 just cause of that.

sounds like a transformer is right next to you.

I'd go with the 848 over the 1098.  The insurance will probably be cheaper for a 848.

Yeah, there are a lot of nice '08 machines.  My favorites right now are the 848, (gulp) GSXR-1000, and CBR1000RR.

I read somewhere that it's a 1098 with an 848 engine.  Better performance than 999!!!!

I checked one out at the dealership on release day. It was very nice looking. I sat on it and slung it around a bit. It feels a lot more top heavy than my 600RR. It was a bit longer feeling, a bit more reach out to the clipons as well. I still wouldn't mind taking one for a test ride. Another guy I know took one out and said he was shocked by its lack of midrange though, said it didn't have any real power until about 7k and it readlines at 10k. He was surprised and expected more out of a twin. Who knows.

It looks so strange...
Reading on the net, I've found only good reviews about 848.
Maybe he should try 1098

I had the pleasure of test riding one and that thing is AMAZING.I have never been on a DUCATI until that day.If I could afford one right now I would buy it.My local Ducati dealer has test rides when a new bike is out,and invite some people to test ride them.I wonder what the Desmosidici would be like:)
