i bought my bike a week ago and the upper fairing that holds the windshield right above where i have the mirror block off plates it has a stress crack.. I went to the dealer and they said it would be 380 painted, is there any other way to fix it to look like stock or should i just fiberglass it and paint.. I was gonna buy an exhuast but i rather get that crack fixed first, any advice will help thanks....

ebay or a breaker for a second hand replacement, if its a stress crack then fibreglass is likely to get in the way as theres not so much room in that area under the fairing. Plus it may go on you again at a later date. 380 seems expensive anyhow, couldn`t you get a new one for not far off that figure?

Not sure what bike you have, but here is a cut&paste from our microfiche for an 06 CBR1000. As syou can see, price depends on color.

JB Weld or any other similar epoxie glue. Get a piece of nylon screen cut it so it will overlap the crack with an inch on each side. put the glue on the two crack edges if you can & on the inside of the fairing then press the screen into it. Wipe off any epoxie on the paint as quick as possible. This has held up on a bike I have for 3 or 4 years now.

Hey get a price quote somewhere online. I called Superbikesupply and I went to my local dealer and pricematched. They are more than willing to, so I spent about 180 or less for a new stock one. My wifey backed into my CBR damage was minor, but I had the money so just got a new one. What color is your 1000 anyways. good luck
