I live just south of Baltimore, Maryland near the BWI airport.  I am willing to consider transporting the bike a reasonable distance if needed to help you out.

There is a lien on the bike- once it is paid you will have the title in approximately 3 business days- probably sooner.  I have sold 3 cars that I have had liens through this credit union with and on 1 the buyer took the title with him from the bank, and the other 2 it was mailed to them with them receiving it in 3 business days.

New asking price of $5,000 but will listen to reasonable offers.  If interested, please post here or harryhrowe@aol.com is my email addy for you to contact me.  I will also add that harryhrowe is also my Ebay username for anyone to check feedback there, and FHATTCATT is my username at Corral.net, SVTPerformance.com, Bimmerforums.com, and VWVortex.com where I have done plenty of selling.  Bike will be posted on Ebay if I don't get bites here- figured I would give a CBR enthusiast first crack at it by posting it here first.

Details:

16,700 miles on it- but actually less due to SpeedoHealer just being installed about 100 miles ago- so probably around 13.5k miles.  I know the speedo was off by about 15% prior to installing the speedo healer.

I have put approximately 2k miles on the bike since purchasing it from a used bike dealer in Frederick, Maryland.  Bike rode well- and I was willing to put on new tires (tires were iffy) and get a major service done to it when I bought it.  I am nearing 40 years of age- don't stunt and the bike hasn't even dreamed of being wheelied while I have owned it.  I don't know how the previous owners rode it, or maintained it, but with how clean the bike is, and how well it rides, I would say that it wasn't abused or neglected.  I did a Carfax on the bike prior to buying it and I believe I am the 3rd owner- and it hasn't had any accidents.

Modifications include- chrome aftermarket rims (look really good though they do have some pitting that you see if you kneel down next to them to look) that I have been told cost about $1,200, Micron slip-on (on bike when I got it- looks like new), K&N air filter, frame sliders, crome bar ends, new Dunlop Qualifiers 190/55 and 120/70 (about 100 miles on them), I believe the sprockets are +2 in the rear and -1 in the front, flushmount turn signals, rear fender eliminated, undertail with turn signals integrated into the brake lights, and a nicely polished frame and swingarm.  For anyone wanting to know, no Power Commander is installed.

Edit:  On 11/13 a brand new Yuasa battery was installed- another $150....

About 100 miles ago I had Heyser Cycle in Laurel, Maryland install the SpeedoHealer, tires, and perform a major maintenance (their "C" service) on the bike.  Once they tacked on the parts, shop materials, and disposal fees I had a pretty good sized bill.  Add up the cost of this service, and the fee to mount and balance the tires, the cost of the tires, the cost of the SpeedoHealer- and about $1000 has been invested into the bike within just the last few weeks.

Here is what was done:

Schedule "C" Service
Cruisers and touring bikes: $369.00 plus taxes, parts, and waste disposal
All 4 cylinder sport bikes: $426.00 plus taxes, parts, and waste disposal
Recommended every 9,000 miles or 18 months.

Inspect and service battery
Torque all major bolts
Inspect and adjust brakes
Check and adjust tire pressure
Change engine oil and filter
Inspect tire wear
Check for oil leaks
Test ride
Inspect fluid levels
Visually inspect vehicle
Inspect all lights and switches
List future work if any is needed
Check air filter
Lubricate all cables
Adjust all cables
Adjust spokes
Adjust drive

Not even a lowball offer out there that might be considered remotely reasonable?

Probably going to be picking up the new bike today.  Need to find a good home for this bike-

Average NADA value on the bike is $5666- see below.  On the NADA sight it gives you the ability to choose options on the bike such as full fairing, and performance street exhaust- which were chosen when pulling the value below.  This bike has other things on it that they don't factor in such as the polished frame, chrome rims, etc....  I am sure that they expect that the bike be properly maintained- but they probably didn't imagine that someone would put new tires (and arguably the best tires out there), a new Yuasa battery, and perform about $700 woth of service all within the past few weeks.

Picked up the '05 CBR 1000 today- so certainly am motivated to find a new home for the 929.  Everytime I rode the 929 over the past couple months I received compliments about it.  The best recommendation for it is that each time that I took it to any bike shop, and was around other riders who know bikes, it was other riders who really went out of their way to take a look at the bike and give it a thumbs up.

For those who may be wondering, the 929 with the sprocket work, and the K&N air filter feels about the same performance wise as the 1000.  The 929 is also lighter and feels as if it has a tighter turning radius.  This might turn into an, "I thought the grass might be greener with a 1000..." story.

I am willing to consider assisting with delivering the bike a reasonable distance- throughout Maryland, DC, Northern Virginia, and Southern Pennsylvania.

Will transport the bike a reasonable distance.

Price is a little negotiable.

Not looking to trade.

Am in a position to sit on the bike and make a couple more payments over the next few cold months- should be able to get my asking price when it begins to warm back up.

Will post the bike on Ebay auction this Sunday- if it doesn't sell there, it is going to nap in my garage for the winter.

Bump back to the front page.  Looks like I may have to make a few more payments and sell it in the spring.  We had good weather on Turkey day- so took my wife out for a spin on it- the bike is a blast to drive, gets compliments all the time (I got some compliments from a few women during our Thanksgiving day ride which prompted jealosy from my wife...!!!), and needs nothing.

Folks- my wife has been ill for sometime going in and out of the hospital a few times over the past few years.  Friday night she was taken back to Baltimore/Washington General.

I need this bike sold now for financial reasons- and because I just don't have time to deal with a long drawn out selling process.  If anyone is remotely interested and is willing to offer anything reasonably near my asking price- shoot me an offer.

Things have been so hectic around here lately that I haven't had a chance to throw the bike on Ebay.  But if noone expresses interest today, I think I should have time to list it tonight.

Bump.  Any offers?  Haven't had time to even think about the bike for awhile.  It is sitting in the garage waiting for a new rider!

Been a little more than 2 months since this was last bumped....  The bike is still for sale.  The weather is due to get a bit nicer really soon.  I have started and run the bike every weekend and have taken it around the block a few times over the past couple months.  Make an offer.

New asking price of $5,000 but will listen to reasonable offers.

My wife will be having a heart valve replacement surgery in approximately 4 weeks.  I need this bike to find a new home for financial reasons- and because I am unable to find the time to ride it and it is too nice of a bike to sit around not being enjoyed!
