I can ride a wheelie with using my clutch and with the powerband, but I haven't been able to shift out of 1st into 2nd yet. I keep running out of rpm's. Can someone give me some advice on the procedure to shift with the wheel up? Do you use the clutch to shift or just shift with no clutch?

If you need to shift than you arent at the balance point.  Plus if you  want to go into second why dont you just start off there.  There is no real reason to shift.  That is only for people that cant stand it up high enough to balance out and they want to make their wheelies last longer so they shift gears and just keep picking up speed.

Practice more and pull it up to the balance point.  Then you wont need to shift

I havent been able to pick it up in second gear yet. I have a 520 conversion with a 15/46 sprocket. Do I ride in 2nd and rev higher to get the front end up in 2nd?

yea, I used to clutch it up in second around 40mph.  I had a +2 in the rear though  but my buddy had the same setup as you on his 02 F4i and I could clutch his up too.  Just practice.  Trying clutching it up around 35-40.  If that doesnt work for you than go slower or faster according to where it comes up the easiest.  Just take it slow, dont loop and dont get to aggressive.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately I live in Nebraska and its getting too cold to ride. So, if there's another warm day out I will work on it.

You should be able to clutch it up from 25 in second. The bike has more than enough power; rev it higher with the clutch in. Don't try shifting through the gears, its very easy to loop, especially from thrid and up - way less engine braking, and you don't have as much feel for when its going over.
