I wouldn't go any earlier than May for Deals Gap.... it's still kinda chilly up there even then.  Probably mid May though would be best, before it starts getting hot out

Deals Gap is still on my vote... I think that would be the easiest spot to have it, with plenty of rooms for everyone to stay together in at Fontana Village.  Lots easier having everyone in one spot.  Then at night we can build a bon fire and all have a great time

Once this progresses a bit, if we do decide on Deals Gap and get a date set, I can post up the info to Fontana so we can all reserve a block of cabins like we did with our south florida group last year... we got 4 cabins all right next to each other, worked out great!

I'll be near Deal's Gap in early April.  Some friends and I decided to go before the tourists and Goldwings show up.  We have a kick ass cabin too.  Can't wait to go.

I'd be up to meet up on Sunday around May.  It's only a 3-4hour drive I think.  I'd just leave Atlanta early in the morning.

Well I'd like to keep it in May, and looking at the Deals Gap event calendar, there's several weekends I would stay away from there due to other clubs annual meets.  First weekend is the annual Mini Cooper invasion (it's HUGE too... tons of cars, I've seen the pics).  3rd weekend was the annual 2 stroke meet, and the last weekend was the annual Subaru meet.  So probably the best weekend for us would be the 2nd weekend of May... 10-11, or maybe 9-12 if ya'll want to stretch it out a lil longer.

So would the 2nd weekend in May work for everybody??  Speaking from experience trying to get meets like this set up, if we argue about the date it'll never get set up.  I'm asking just to be considerate, but if nobody objects I say we go ahead and set this as the date for the meet.  I can go ahead and add it to the Deals Gap calendar.  Maybe we could even make it an annual thing!

exactly Jared. thats why we are planning NOW! everyone wont be happy w/ the place we plan to meet, not everyone will be happy w/ the dates chosen. but its why we are planning ahead.

well, so far looks like May @ Deals Gap!

hope to see everyone there!

I know I wish we could make it somewhere perfectly central for everybody.... they have it easier on the west coast because it's more of an even square over there, whereas here on the east coast we have 2 'limbs' that kinda stick way out there (NE... VT/DE/RI/MA/ect.... SE.... Florida), so it makes it hard cuz even in a central location anybody from those locations will have a much longer ride.  It sucks, but... it is what it is, ya know?  Finding something exactly central for everybody where there's also something to do other than stand around somewhere... kinda limits your choices.

So J you want to work together to get this thing planned out?  I know I just kinda busted in here and all, but hey from much prior experience with forum meets, if somebody doesn't jump in and take the initiative (like you and me both), it'll never happen.  Been there seen that... MANY times!  I think you and I both definitely want to make this happen though.  So get on AIM sometime ya crazy foo!!    If this meet goes off well, I'd love to make an annual thing out of it

I'm down with the Dragon.  I have access to a little one room cabin
twenty minutes from Deal's Gap.  Fontana Dam is definitely the shiznit.
Some of the best mtn biking trails are at Fontana.  Some of the best
downhill race courses in the nation are in those woods.  I have taken
some serious money home from some of those races too.

The gap sounds fun to me. I am in southwest florida if anyone wants to meet up we can trailor the bikes up together and split the travel cost. Well hope this all goes down and I hope to see you all in may.
