i have a 87 honda hurricane 1000f i know this a place for 600 but it only place for the hurricane
here is my trouble


i need carbs or something today i went riding
and use 3/4 of a tank of gas in 20 miles
so it flooding or something and when you are riding and
you go to shift and let off the gas the rpm go when you pull the clucth in
and slowly comes back down it sounds like
a rookies riding i've been riding for 18 years

You might have a stuck float..causing a VERY rich condition and it is pouring in more fuel than it can burn, or it is your fuel petcockdumping excess gas in the carb..either way you need to get it checked..
Try this, run it for a minute or two and then turn the gas off via the petcock...if it gets better and runs good for a minute or two,and then dies ( since it is out of gas) then it is your fuel petcock...other wise it is your carbs

I am not sure where you live, but there is a bike junk yard called OZ out in Ottawa Kansas.. about 45 minutes south of Olathe. My boyfriend went out and picked me up a set of carbs off another hurricane. Minie is a 600, but he said they still had a couple of 1000's out there. You should check it out.

Your probly right about the floats, I'm not to sure about the 1000's but my 600 is fed by a electronic fuel pump after the petcock if the 1000's are also it could have something to do with that to
