I just got my bike custom painted but I dont think they put enough clear coat on. Can someone tell me how to clea coat my bike. Do I have to take it apart or can I tape everything off and do it. On a scale 1-10 (10 hardest) how hard????

Take it back to the guys who painted it.......
I'd say strip the bike again, and clear coat isn't easy, probably 10/10 for difficulty, to get it right.
Too much clearcoat also doesn't look that nice

you are going to have to strip the bike down, wet sand and clear coat. i'd suggest a professional doing it. you want about 2 or 3 coats of clear, not much more. especially on plastic.

What makes you think they didn't put enough clear coat on? For a motorcycle you really only need one coat because you don't have to endure harsh contamints like with a everyday car going through snow and rain.

Just go up there and ask them? If you put to much clear coat on then it can become soft and scratch really easy. If your not happy with the shine I can help you smooth out the clear coat a little. Might not of been polished enough. I get that alot in some of my details. 2 summers ago I got a call from a friend who is an insurance adjuster and wanted me to finish up the job. Well, the body shop would just clear coat and do a ruff pass over the clear coat and give it to the customer. No glaze, nothing. I made a killing that summer because of laziness. This bike I bought had the same problem. Two days ago. I clayed it to remove the over spray. Then used a cutting polish to haze the clear coat to make it all one level, so i can make it flat. Then i broke out a finishing polish to smooth the clear coat so it'a flat (flat=optimum shine). Finally I put a acrylic/polymer to protect the pain then a $200 dollar wax. Put it this way I thought my bike was just gray, well it's actually metallic gray now.
