i think my problem is in the wiring and i was wondering if any one could check their connector for the fuel pump with just the ignition switch on and see if both ports have power or if only the green one does. thanks

i will try you haould have power to 1 and ground to 1. with the switch off probe a wire to see if it lights up when you turn the key on. find the 1 with power and check the other for ground. when you know which is hot you can run a wire from the battery to check the pump hope this helps

check the ground with a test light to the postive battery post should light. if the ground is good make a test lead with a fuse in it and run from the postive to the postive on the fuel pump make sure the pump is grounded stright wire the fuel pump then you know if its good or not. be careful use safty glasses and a fused hot wire be safe

run it positive to the positive like from the wire back to it self or from the terminal and have a fuse in it. then just straight wire it to see if it will work that will make sure for positive thanks ill post back after ive checked all of that

if you have a good ground and ran power from the battery to the pump and it didnt run the pump is bad replace the pump and you should be ready to ride. you did check all the fuses right?

I have had a similar problem with poor fuel delivery before.... the solution turned out to be a bad battery. The fuel delivery was okay if the rear brake was applied and I know this sounds crazy... I traced the wiring diagram and the fuel cutout relay the affected part ...too low voltage. I replaced the battery and all the issues went away.

You can always bypass the fuel pump also. The only reason the cbr has a fuel pump is the lower portion of the tank is below the carbs. If the fuel level in the tank is higher than the carbs you can pull the fuel line off the pump and place it on the filter... this is not a permanent solution but it can get you home. The bike runs normally on gravity feed.
