I'm talking about camping, carrying as little as possible, and riding for a week or two at a time.

I'll bite for your amusement.

I voted long distance and commute but I don't do it on the 929.

I'm actually contemplating doing a Streefighter convert on the 929 so I can have some kind of wrist comfort on those longer days.

There!  Happy??  Who's next?

That's funny....I usually hit "Today's Posts" and proceed from there.....saw this one lingering near the top for a while and figured I post up....looks like it's just you and me duder!

How about this, I'll make 4 new accounts and post in this thread...k?

I ride a few long rides a year... I recently snagged a set of cortech tail/saddle bags. That was a huge step up from the mess of bungees I used to use.

I can get tools in the bottom of left/right bags (balance) clothes on the top of 1, food on the top of other (granola, water, the day's sandwich), sweater/mini-sleeping bag/bed roll in the top bag - tent bunged to the rear of the top bag. That's it... that still leaves room in the top bag for a spare clutch cable, zip ties and a few other patch up bits and peices.

I'm looking for a tank bag for my maps and a new bike-proof camera.

Never seen those bags before - that's really cool!

Actually - we should start a gear thread, as we have probably individually tryed most gear out there.

ok.. alittle bumpage.. i ride long distance.. and to be completely honest.. i dont camp that often (while on the bike) because i can afford to stay in hotels.. (not to mention i have a kazillion hilton honors points) and a full nights sleep is the most important factor when spending multiple full days on a 600RR..

but yes.. long trips i love.. i usually try to find obscure and strange shit to go look at in places im sure i will never stop in again..

I too have the desire to try this...even though most of the time I resent camping....mostly cause I suck at it (lack of pratice and good sleeping gear) and my friends choose to go at the most inopertune times of the year.

I've already put out feelers with my riding group and there was considerable aprehention (partially because of the dates I suggested).

Anyway I intend to try it in the coming months....
