Here is the problem. Any ideas besides a full tear down?

you checked the tightness on all the parts you removed (oil filter and plug included)? it seems like its creating a vacuum when you rev which would tighten a leak and take away that light

If there was a leak would there not be oil everywhere? There is no fluids on the bike that would indicate a leak. The plug and oil filter are tight and this was a problem before the oil change. Also, the oil light only comes on when the engine is at operating temperature. When I ride the bike the oil light never comes on unless it is less that 2000 RPMs.

you need to check the actual oil pressure level but i have a feeling this is not a oil pressure problem.. this is what you need to do..  warm up engine to operating temp.. stop the engine, removce the crackcase sealing bolt and then connect an oil pressure gauge and attachment to the crankcase.. strat the engien and read the oil pressure.. 71psi at 5,400 rpm's then torque the sealing bolt back to 22ft lb's

I know I need to check the oil pressure. I still believe it is low. I think that the amount of times that I have blown the clutch has junked up the oil screen. I think that I am going to tear the right side apart sometime this weekend.

I just looked up the parts. Oil pump is 110 dollars. This does not make me happy. Hopefully the screen is clogged.

I vaguely remember needing special tools to take part the oil system on the bike becuase of how it is connected to the timing. Can anyone confirm this?

Besides an oil pump going bad, I would also look at a couple other things.  The F3 has an oil pressure relief valve just forward of the oil pick up.  My guess is that there is one on your bike as well and it might be have gone bad.  On the oil pick up, there is a strainer and it could be plugged, easy visual check while you have the oil pan off.  What about the oil level and what type of oil did you use (not questioning skills, just covering possible causes)?  There could be an internal oil leak but my guess is you would of seen it when you changed the oil.  Just in case, check your coolant.  Make sure it's not a brown color at all.  If all this checks out, follow up on bobjoezx suggestion also.  Could just a be a bad sensor.  If you do determine that it is a bad oil pump, bo here to buy it, it should be cheaper.  I didn't see a 954 listed but just give'em a call for the pump.

i would rec checking the oil pressure-use a gauge, what is the pressure with the light on,then what is it with the light off, compare the readings
to the factory specs!-verify that there is a oil pressure problem versus a oil pressure light problem
if it is a oil pressure problem-and the pump is affected debri will be the cause-start by checking the pick-up screen,a new oil pump is
usless with a clogged pick-up screen,so i would rec starting there

The easiest thing you could possibly do is verify that the pump is in fact working.  Loosen the filter and start it to see if oil comes out.  You may have an air pocket in there. Some times the pump will not prime an empty filter (Although this is more typical when doing an oil change) but it's a VERY easy way to make sure the pump is actually pumping oil.  Start there, no tear down and it'll take you 5 minutes.  You should have oil running out at a fairly good pace ( no......it will not spray all over, just run out). If you do not......your pump is shot or the pick up is clogged.  If  it IS coming out and pumping then put on a gauge and check the pressure level. If everything is cool you have a bad sensor somewhere.

I just watched our video.........not to be a douche but I wouldnt be banging that ****er off the rev limiter if there is an oil pressure problem until it's fixed.

Also.....an easier fix yet would be to turn up your idle. LOL.

No......I doubt it's air in the sytem, mine wouldnt go away even getting it off idle, it simply would not push the air out with out loosening the filter.  Loosen it and make sure it comes out of there (oil) at an idle.

Didnt you just recently clean your crank case with seafoam or Kerosene? It is possible that during this process some gunk was loosened up and now has manage to lodge itself in your oil pick up...

I was going to clean it but never got around to it. I wanted to do the oil change first to see if the oil filter was clogged. I took the oil filter apart and it checks out. There is not any metal, etc. in it. I am going to be pulling the pan this weekend. I am almost sure that a piece of clutch material is clogging the pickup.

Also, I like to bounce my engine off of the limiter. If it blows it gives me more incentive to add HP.
