Here's a comparo -- had the silver star on the right and HID on the left. You can see that the silverstar is whiter than the marker light (itty bitty center light) but is humbled and shamed by a true HID:

Actually I liked the Silverstar bulbs too but I had the HID on a previous bike and was spoiled. The silverstars but out a good bit more light over stock and for the $$ is a good deal. Gotta spend the big bucks to go HID.

They outperform the stockers by leaps and bounds, well worth the 40 bucks. i have them but i am upgrading soon to HIDs.

if there was any way possible, i would love to see pictures of the silverstars, hid, and stock bulbs side-by-side in rainy or foggy conditions. i have the silverstars in my truck and love them. untill it rains or is remotely foggy. the brighter lights seem to reflect more in those situations and actually seem to be worse than the softer, yellowish look of stock bulbs. its like running with the brights on and we all know that is not a good thing. it may be different on bikes but i dont know. that is why my bike has stock bulbs. sure others are brighter and allow you to see more in dark conditions, but i need more of a reason to shell out money for a product that is not completely proven to me. just my opinion.
