Hey guys going to look at a 02 954rr this weekend.  Stepping up from my 600rr.  Just wanted to see if theres anything specific i should be looking at, any problem areas or anything?  Or just all the things you would normally check on any other bike.

THanks for the help

On one of the years they replaced the steering head bearings (not a recall, but it could have been), so you could ask around to find out what year that was and if it was done if the bike in question is that year.

Otherwise.........not that I've heard out of the ordinary.

head bearings are a riders fault problem from not knowing how to ride and slamming the front end down.. the 954 is a reliable bike and shouldn't have to many problems except for ones that you might bring on to the bike yourself. but if any come up.. post them and i can help ya

You wouldn't happen to be from Pasedena TX would you?  If so reply cause I think we might have something in common.

The shift forks are ridiculously weak for a liter bike.

Thanks for all the replys.  Is there anyways to tell if the head bearings are shot without riding.  I assume that when riding you would get terrible head shake?

it's not so much headshake.. it's steering stem slop.. you will def feel when trying to brake
