whats up i was just woundering if you could set the float hights without a gaige or as close as posoble the little metal tab is about straght and it seems to be running rich it is mini backfiring when you give it throtle any suggestions

Straight (parallel to the plastic) should be pretty good. Make sure they all "float" in a bowl of gas. Make sure the float needles are seating correctly in the bore, as well. If you turn the carb assembly upside down so the needles are "seated" you shouldn't be able to blow any air into the center gas inlet. Dirty float needles that don't seat well will cause a rich condition. And, just to make sure, you checked your idle mixture screws, right?
