Feared600RR -> RE: How to launch at the track??????????? (1/9/2008 7:54:55 PM)

if you like to drag a knee ( as i do :P ) leave that swing arm alone .. go do a track day and see what that bike will really do .. if you would rather do more drag then anything then by all means go for it . i'v taken my stock 07 600RR to the drag strip and i'v only been there once with this bike .. made 3 runs .. ran 11.38,11.45,11.39   .... but i'd rather be draging knees then running 1/4 mile strech :P

Thompsons makes em too but he personally told me that, and I quote "I wont warrantee them for Sh*t" Physics my friend, physics...maybe the load rating might be a little higher but think real hard about it and it makes a lot of sense...at least in my opinion...and for thompson to tell me that (a man whose been building swingarms for years and knows the risks of a faulty swingarm) it all made sense...yeah they are engineered to be as strong as possible but I still broke mine and I know of two other incidents too[:D]

Dude you should be running mid to high 10s easy, I was running your times on my 1991 gsxr 750[:)]

Gone_Broke -> RE: How to launch at the track??????????? (1/9/2008 9:42:19 PM)

I bought a front strap off e-bay last night for $ 20. I think this is about the most I am willing to change to drag. I would rather take road trips and hit the twisties than drag.

bergs -> RE: How to launch at the track??????????? (1/9/2008 9:55:02 PM)

Straps??!!  Ewwwwwww!!

petrorr- I'd love to go heads up with you if we ever cross paths.  Your stretched and dropped 900(?) against either bike in my sig.

petrorr -> RE: How to launch at the track??????????? (1/9/2008 9:55:25 PM)

Thats cool bro, different strokes for different folks, keep the shiny side up an be safe[:D]

petrorr -> RE: How to launch at the track??????????? (1/9/2008 10:05:37 PM)

as long as you arent sleeping at the line...no doubt your bikes would probably run faster times but its all about who finishes first, Ive run races where guys have run quicker times but were playing catchup cause I put 4 or five bike lengths between us before they get going...It would be a good one though[:)]

bergs -> RE: How to launch at the track??????????? (1/9/2008 10:27:31 PM)

Not a pro but I rarely sleep.

I see alot of .0xx on a .500 tree.....admittedly, I should try to run on a pro-tree more often.

I haven't been able to break 10's on the FZ for some reason.

I'll bet that 9 gives 'Busas and ZX14's pretty good runs.  Both those bikes are pigs in the 1/4.

I gotta say, it's pretty fun to walk on a large-cc bike who's rider is all that and a bag of chips at the tree and humbled at the traps...too funny!

So, you anywhere near New England?  I see you're in the "United States" but I hear that's a pretty big place...[:D]

petrorr -> RE: How to launch at the track??????????? (1/9/2008 10:55:25 PM)

Its fun going up against bigger bikes, but being carbed is a handicap in itself against the EFI bikes which makes a win all the more sweeter... New England! I love that part of the US.[:D]I spent a bit of my childhood in Georgetown, Mass. before moving to the middle east...I now live in Hawaii, been here for 17 years and never leaving.

bergs -> RE: How to launch at the track??????????? (1/9/2008 11:01:41 PM)

LOLZ

Well I guess we won't be going heads up anytime soon!

Three of my closest friends moved to Kaui'i (sp?).  Really nice place!

On that note, I'm outta here.  We'll pick this up again tomorrow.

Peace and 1

JonJon -> RE: How to launch at the track??????????? (1/17/2008 4:35:57 PM)

Now I never been to the track but mine is streched and lowerd. I will say how much better on the straight away it is. What you see now is a 6 inch extention. I do have a buddy of mine building me another swing arm from the ground up later this year. I will take it out to 10-12 inches then.

ClutchBurningRacing -> RE: How to launch at the track??????????? (1/22/2008 5:46:02 PM)

petrorr, that definatly looks bad! kinda like sub-standard materials. I am with u, get a well known fabricator like McIntosh or Trac to build a good arm.

mhonda98 -> RE: How to launch at the track??????????? (1/22/2008 9:40:34 PM)

+1 on that I like the look of the trac dynamics ones myself
