What about exhaust wrap, DEI makes it, You can pick this up from your local parts store for $20. Wrap from the can to the downpipe connection, Looks trick, Easy to do, A afternoon with a 12 pack and the job is complete.

Just take your plastic trim and line the inside of it with aluminized tape from Lowes.  Reflects the heat, protects the plastic from melting and your leg from getting hot.  I lined my fairings with it and it seemed to help a lot where before I was melting the edge near the exhaust on my F4i.
