1000's? from what year?

i never had any problems with my original set of carbs. if you are experiencing backfire, it is either running rich or lean. could either be due to ignition or carb.

are you running stock exhaust? do the 600 carbs need rebuilding?

they 1000's are from 89 as well.

i am trying to put the 600 carbs on i already rebuilt them but i think they need new gaskets on the float bowls i got it to start after i replaced the carbs just now and fuel was leaking out of the bottem of them.

When i bought the bike it had a different exaust i put stock back on it becuse the one he had on it was not for road use and i got pulled over when i first rode it and it first died on me all at once.
