Hi, I've just bought my first CBR 1000 - a 1995 version with just over 33k on the clock. I'm due to pick it up later this week

I've attached a picture for you all to have a look.

I also found this french cbr 1000 site with quite alot of photos you might be interested in looking through.

Hi yegvop...welcome to the Hurricane forum!

Great looking bike!  Congrats!  Looks like you'll be ready to do some serious touring with all that you have included there.   Always feel free to ask any questions you have.  This is a great place.

Thanks for the link.  There's some very interesting stuff there.   I really like this set up:

Hi and welcome. You will find this is the finest CBR forum anywhere, thanks to the other guys and their huge experience.

Did you "win" that CBR on E bay? I seem to remember the photos. Hope it is a good 'un.

All the best

Welcome to the forum, Nice bike. What make are those bags? I am looking to bag my bike. I don't like the soft bags that I have.

Hi TBT - here are some pics of a set of Nonfangos on a Hurricane - I have an identical set, and a set of Givis on a Blackbird, Both very well made, sturdy and long lasting.....

Hi,

thanks for the warm welcome - i realised this is the place to post for help with questions or problems - I've been browsing around here for a couple of weeks now and already had downloaded both the service manuals listed.

I'm not sure on the make of the panniers (will be able to tell you for sure later this week) but i think they are Givi's.

One things for sure, It'll be nice not having to strap a large bag with change of clothes, heavy 17" laptop etc onto the back of the bike (using the ever trust-worthy spider bungee) every day for the journey to and from work

You're right that this was a bike listed on Ebay - one of the most amusing listings i've read for a while - and the seller was actually genuinely a very nice guy - even let my wife and 2 young boys trash his house while i took her out for a spin!

I've always facied building a sidecar in the shape of a red london double decker bus which the kids could ride in with their own horn and bell etc

Do any of you guys go to the UK HOC events? or have a local group you regularly meet up with for a blap (technical term for a pleasant jaunt on the motorcycle with friends)

Flogger might, but it's a bit far for Coopz, Roger , Blue1000F or me on a Sunday morning......
Thanks for the offer of a blap..though.

There are two rules for riding in snow and ice, but nobody knows what they are.......

I've just joined the HOC (in the last week) so not been to any events yet. Their forum is okay but not as good as here. I'm in Essex (at the moment) so not too far for a meet.

Shadow, if you leave now you could be with us by Sunday.
