P.S.  I still need to get my wheels from the powder coater!

That means I've still got a chrome rear, racing fairings w/windscreen and a crash cage for sale!  Anyone want them???

Waiting on headlight and fender... then to paint!  Oh yeah

I got my fender and headlight today and I've got some pictures of the mock-up.  I also went to Menards and got some pretty cool allen bolts for the windscreen.  They kind of look like computer case thumb screws... cool.  Haven't got the headlight in because I've got to do some hacksawing on the upper stay to get all the welded crap off but I do like the looks of it so far!

I like the mirrors I got and I haven't drilled the upper to accept the wiring but I think they look pretty good and will be nice to have a completely, hole-free mid fairing.  I got some similar allen bolts for them as the bolts they come with buck salls.

Anyway, here's the pics.  Should be painting this weekend!

Hey and thanks to everyone for your kind words!  I appreciate it, this kind of stuff is fun for me and I like having a timeline of sorts for projects like these.  They're nice to visit a couple of years down the road.  Reminds me of actually this time last year when I was doing a lot of this stuff to my F3.  Good times...

Alright so I got my upper fairing stay hacksawed back to normal and I got the headlight mounted.  I love the look of the front end!  I also did a good deal more cleaning on the rear of the engine and swingarm.  I've got the shock coils and canister all cleaned up, and I've still got to get the chain-guide area cleaned but that's tomorrow.

As I look at the swingarm I may have to fit a tire hugger in place in the end as it's pretty lightly scratched and I don't want to try and sand brushed aluminum... oh well.  I need to find one I like, I guess.  Here some more pictures.

I would also like to add that so far, that upper from eBay has been awesome.  It was $99 BIN and the fit has been great.  Headlight mounts were perfect and it lines up nicely with the induction covers.  Now obviously it's still a fiberglass piece and a trained eye may be able to tell cwhen they're right up on it, but it looks great and I can't wait to see what it will look like painted.

Anyway, I would vouch for that seller as it only took 2 days to get my piece for $125 shipped and it is quality.

I've decided to take some of the extra cash and try and knock out a rear seat cowl.  I'm using the old seat from the bike as it has a hole it in, figured what the hell?

I've seen a handfull of ways to do it but I just decided to take the leather off the top, and lay about three layers down on top of it flush with the side, with the last layer snugly wrapping around the dges to hold everything on without mounting screws.

I have a feeling there is going to be a lot of sanding and bondo in the next few days BUT this thing doesn't look half bad so far in it's rough form.

I think I can knock this out and have a fairly good looking piece.  Camera is jacked so no pics for a bit.

Stay tooned...

I know the front would mount directly, I'm not sure about the rear mount.  Shouldn't be much different if at all.  If anyone knows, help us out!

$75 + shipping.  I'm guessing $15-$20.  Want it?  It can go out tomorrow.
