Whats up guys?  I have a few questions about the CBR's and this seems like the best place to look for the answers.  I am looking for a track bike and I have found two bikes that I am interested in, 1st is a 1995 CBR600 F3 and 2nd is a 1995 CBR900rr.  Could anyone tell me if they have any experience with either of these bikes as a track bike and if so which would be better? Both bikes are the same price and both are in what seems to be better than average condition for the years.
Thanks for your help

RR: Race Ready baby

Welcome. The 900RR makes an excellent track day competitor. The F3 sits more upright and comfy than its big brother and is a good 25 ponies down on horsepower.

Add sticky tires and a little suspension tuning on the 900 and you're ready to go...

I just wonder about tires on the 900 because of the 16" front.  I know the power vs weight is a + to the 900 but I am coming from an 06 SV650S, is that going to be a big power increase curve? As far as the tires what would be a good track/street (more track than street)? I am really diggin the pilot powers but that doesn't come in a 16" as far as I know.

Hmmm...coming from the Suzuki you may feel more confident on the F3, though the 900 is extremely user-friendly. The F3 17" front rim is a direct bolt-on to the 900 if you want optional tire choices, but there's still plenty available for the 16":

Pirelli Diablo Supersport

Dunlop Qualifier

Metzeler Sportec M3

Bridgestone Battlax BT-014

Avon Viper Sport

I went ahead and got the f3.After talking with the previous owner I found out that this bike has Progressive front springs, timing advance has been upgraded and he put in a Barrett ( I think I spelled that right) performance clutch about 3k miles ago.
