hey syko, you say you want to outrun r1's and gsxr1000's. the only way that you are going to get them in the straights is to get a faster bike. the 929 is a great bike and with a good rider can stay with the newer bikes in the corners. but there is nothing you can do to erase the 50 horsepower gap between you and them. and even if you could get close to the power of the faster bikes, they would be leaps and bounds ahead of you again when they do the same mods. so the only option is to get a faster bike.

Its about time someone told me that and it had to be another 929 rider. I already knew that I needed a faster bike but I was just waiting for someone else to tell me. Thanks nine2nine. Looks like I'll be getting that 06 1000rr when it comes out. Got to stick with honda its only right.

i had my 954 put more power to the ground than my 1000rr when i got it stock..I had a full akrapovic,pc3 with custom map, flapper mod. I did a dyno with my 54 stock and dynod at 133.6,then we did all the mods put it on the same dyno and put out 156.2...my 1000 was 149 stock, i dont know what it is now since i have done the exhaust and flapper.

Gonecrazy, when you said you did the flapper mod, what did you do? Did you have the valve removed? If so how does your bike run since you did that? I heard about removing the flapper valve but a tech said that my engine will over heat and honda's are known for getting very hot already. And if you do the same mods to your 1000rr I'm sure it would dyno around 170hp if not more and thats to much work and money to put into to get 160+ hp out of my 929 when the R1 and the gixxer 1000 can do the same mods and still be faster then me ya know. But tell me how your bike runs since you did the flapper mod and the akrapovic exhaust.

Well I'm not tryin to lose any top end or hp. I want to be the youngest and the fastest in the tri state area.

Had a freind who had the exact same ambition once, he's dead now. Its amazing how many kids are just aching to kill themselves (or someone else) streetracing....

youngest and fastest never seem to go with smartest.

Since every Dyno is different I will say I used the same dyno and tuner before and after these mods for my 929: Pare and flapper removed, stock air filter, full Arata,PCIII usb and custom mapping and gained 13.3 true hp at the rear wheel.hth

My life is in my own hands when I ride. If I choose to race then I am. Sorry about your friend but he is not me. I have been riding for a while and whenever I don't feel right I don't race I just chill. I can get killed going safe speeds. Its not up to me what other drivers or riders are going to do. I can't help that. I am pretty safe but I got the name syko for a reason. Like Isaid it is not up to me what another person is going to do I can only react to it. But I will be the fastest rider in philly.

Not at all, actually running cooler, and I mean as a stocker it would high idle until the temp read 125 then go to normal idle now it drops at 115 and running it all day yesterday it was running 170-190 temp wise but it was only 60 degrees.I rode a 05 CBR 1K yesterday as well, decieving power and a bit too much for me I'll stick with my 130+ hp for now,I also liked the riding position of the 929 over the 1K but it is a sweet ride.

Why is everybody comin at me cause I want to be fast? Bikes are made to go fast. Just cause I'm not scared to open my bike up and use it like its supposed to be used don't come sayin that I am aching to kill myself. I had a friend die 2 weeks ago and he wasn't speeding at all. If you can handle your bike then whats the problem? Maybe you guys aren't real riders and need to trade your hondas in for harley's.

Hey bro, nothing against you. It is more of the attitude you have towards riding, you lack the respect you need to have towards the bike.

I know nohting about you but by just a few words you have posted this is a conclusion some of us have come to or maybe just me. I like paying the amount I pay for insurance. There is also legislation relating to health insurance for motorcycle riders due to the lack of respect given to the machine.

Don't take me wrong just going off what I have read.
