Heres an easy solution; keep the bike, buy her this http://www.stillruns.com/funny/11.jpg - calmly explain her safety is your #1 priority. Its a flawless plan and I'm sure Tempe could part with that bad boy for under a grand.

Hate to see someone sell a bike like that, one of the bes factory color schemes I have seen.
