I have a guy that is offering to drive from Michigan with a 1995 Honda CBR900rr with a 1997 motor and plastic. The motor has a 945 big bore kit, 41 keihin flat side carbs dyna 2000 ignition and an awesome paint job. He is wanting to trade me this bike for my 2004 Honda TRX450r ATV. My quad is worth about $4,800, is this bike worth me taking the time to trade? Will I have problems with this bike in the long run? and do those carbs normally make a ticking noise? I was told that the piston kit would end up giving me reliability issues... but I want opinions please : )

If it has everything on it he's saying it does then it probably is a fair trade. I'm not familiar with the piston kit but if it's mapped right I don't see why they'd give you problems unless the rods or wrists have some inherent flaw.

If it has what he says it does and the motor is in good running shape, it's a fair trade. If it's a 95 with just the newer plastics, it's not really worth it. I bought my 95 900RR with 97 plastics on it for $3000.
