My Rear brake lever feels a little funny fitting on the foot and it almost doesn't seem to be in a natural position.  I was wondering if you guys could notice if it was bent or not.  I plan to get a new one anways because as you can see its oxidizing like mad. Thanks.

Yeah, kinda, not to mention welded.  Get a new one - it's a brake **important**.

Put it in a vice and bend it back with a sledge hammer.

It'll be fine as long as you don't try to get it hot.  And even if it DID fail, you only lose about 20% of your braking power.  Don't even consider thinking about possibly maybe doing the same thing to a bent front brake lever, though.

I bent back one that was literally curled all the way backwards, and while it's not in the right position, it still works fine.

Anyone know of a good place or company to buy them from, most of the time you replace your front ones not the back.

You don't need to replace it.  It's only bent a little bit.  Like, 20 degrees a most.

Bend it back, put it back on, and push on it with all your weight if you're worried about it breaking.

If you want to keep it, Permatex Rust Dissolver Gel and a silver paint pen should fix all but being bent.  Probably 10 bucks.

Hmm...maybe this weekend I'll do that.  Il probly also then, since my bike is naked, take off the headers and pipes and get all the rust off then paint them possibly with some black intense heat spray paint...or silver I already own some silver...

A wire wheel on an angle grinder will take that rust off in two seconds flat...  then you can paint it with a 5-dollar bottle of silver spray paint.

The exhaust paint will burn off, trust me.

It will last about 2 rides, then be gone!

Get them ceramic coated for $100, they look chrome, it adds power (lowers exhaust turbulance in the header, exhaust gases escape faster) and keeps everything inside the plastics a lot cooler.

Plus they'll never rust again.

I agree...  1500 degree paint my ass.  Literally two rides and it's started to peel near the exhaust ports.

Although if I sprayed about 3-4 more coats it might actually stick.
