it's a Vortex Cat5 hardcoated 520 pitch sprocket...you can pretty much find them anywhere...they have them in a ton of colors too (well not a ton, red, blue, black, etc..)...they are REALLY nice...quality is awesome....

the sprocket nuts are from Pro-bolts...they anno red with steel threaded inserts so you can torque them to factory...

the carrier i painted and i also painted the inner on the rotor...the rotor inner right now isn't perfect, but i went about a mm or so in on the braking surface...a couple good brakes and the rear pad will even it out to a perfect circle....

the pictures doesn't do it justice because it still has my fingerprints all over from working on it...when it's cleaned up and put on the bike, i have a feeling it will look awesome....just so you can complete the picture in your mind...i have a red chain going on with it and my rear caliper is red with a red SS line from it...the rest of the rear is completely blacked out....pegs powdered, rearsets powdered, etc....

I agree with the fact that you must ride defensively at all times.  All I am saying that it definately helps to make the bike more noticeable as well.  When you look at most stock colors(not all) they have bright, stand out colors and patterns.  Not just because they think they look good but because they are safer.  Same reasons account for helmet colors and patterns.  I think every rider should ride like the cars around them have no idea they are there but there are also measure to take to help make you seen.  I honestly think that all black bike looks sweet as hell I just dont think it is safe for riding in traffic.  At night especially.

F4itanner I concur. I wasn't trying to be a smartass or anything but I see where you're shooting from. Infact I must admit that it wasn't until I actually started riding that I really started looking out for bikes on the road religiously. I mean I always tried to be a safe driver but looking out for bikes wasn't something that was on my conscience. It is now of course and even when I drive the missus's cage (not often) I am motorcycle aware & drive defensively as if I were on the bike. I think the motorcycle training has made me a better driver. You can't trust anyone! Anyways enough on that. ffingers I really like that sprocket. Too bad I just swapped mine out but I am definately going for a Vortex when I wear this sucker out. I understand the nuts are ano red but do those sprockets come anodised or just painted?

the sprocket is PTFE hardcoated....so not painted or annodized...much much much tougher...it's essentially like the color is baked into the sprocket...it's a matte finish....i don't know much about the hardcoating, but it also is supposed to make the aluminum sprocket last much longer....close to the life of a steel sprocket...

yea thats what i realized too. ive always been a good drive (ive never been in a wreck or even pulled over) and ive had my Ls for 5 years now, but once i started seriously considering geting a bike, and i read posts on here about ppl not paying attention and stuff... i started lookin more specifically for bikes also.  so i know that other ppl who have never had, or never will, get a bike, also dont look for us.  like my step dad always tells me "Ride like everyones tryin to kill ya" lol

flat black

i had to put stickers on to hide blemishes, and it's a little boring without anything to break up all the black.

mine is flat black (pics on page one) and ive recently threw on some ghosted marblized flames. im actually decently satisfied with the result. my bikes fairings are pos anyway, so it changes regularly. but for now the ghost flames are ok.

like someone else said, if you go flat, you need something to break up the black.
