Just thought i would make a thread on what I have been doing to my F2 over the winter and where it is at now.

This is the bike I got for $2400. This is about 2 weeks after i got it and only had about 2 months of being able to ride before it got to cold.

Well 2 months later it got cold outside so it was time to tear down the bike and check EVERYTHING over before i get to ride it again

my storage area in the basement to keep the plastics away from any danger

I was planning on running it once a week to keep things going but i found out that their is no way when it is 10F out in a non-heated garage the bike will start so i took off the tank and a few other things and put the full tank in a warm heated house with the rest of the stuff

i am a huge clean freak so of course when it was apart i had to do some cleaning even though it will get dirty after 10 minutes of riding next spring

even though i am getting a exhaust most likely a yoshimura rs-3 s/o i polished my exhaust

when i took off the chain to clean it i noticed that a lot of the links did not want to bend any more at least not without a lot of effort so it was time for a new one. I decided to go with a D.I.D 530ZVM2 X2 o-ring chain in silver

little further apart. i was finally off from college for Christmas break so i have some time to work on it

how dirty

During my brake it got very warm out so i decided to clean all my plastic parts that i took off. i made it through 3/4 of the stuff. the fairings were the worst on the inside

they came out pretty like this. still needed to be dried but pretty much like that

I finally found a way to remove my back wheel to clean it. to poor for a real stand (was not like this for long as i did not feel safe)

some of the black is like stained on it if you can see it. but anyways took it to work and got all the chain grease off and everything else. i thought that piece where the sprocket hooks to was black but then i found out it was silver. anyways got done waxing it and calling it a day.

after that i finally got some money to get myself s

Fantastic pictures.

I also threw a new DID chain and sprockets on mine.   But I removed the rear swingarm so the chain could be installed in one piece.

Next time I'm looking for a used bike, I hope you have one for sale! Talk about WELL maintained...
Nice work.
(I don't have the luxury of cold weather to clean my bike like that, I'm forced to ride all year)

ahhhhhhhhh makes me want to get on spring break already so i can see my baby! BEAUTIFUL bike, wish i had the time over winter to all that, cant wait to see everything back together. be sure to get the outside of those fairings looking real shiny like. other than that, if youre going crazy on maintenance, maybe you want to change the fork oil too? probably not necessary but it would be nice to get some new fluid in there. if your brake pads are looking fine thats all i can think of! great looking bike

thanks everyone

ya the brakes and tires he said were just changed right before i bought it. they look new so i believe he told the truth.

i have to yet clean the outside of the faring really well. i washed them and took them off. i need to re-wash and wax them before i put them on to make them look good. the upper left faring i am thinking about replacing due to some cracks but not sure if i will.

i have some plans for the bike but i am not sure how much of them i will end up doing. but i will show pictures on whatever i do.

GREAT JOB! I think my bike now is in danger of being the cleanest F2. Excellent work and keep us posted on more of your progress.
