i just brought home my new f4i. its an 01.
anyways guy said he put a new fuel pump on it and since then when you turn the key to the on position the fuel pump wont stop priming... i look on some other sites and seen it may be a bad injector? bike starts and runs fine. should i not be runnning it while its doin this? any help is appreciated thanks guys

if it's a bad injector, then your engine will misfire and it will run funny. how does it ride? are you eating up gas like crazy? funny thing is... if you're fuel pump doesn't start up then your engine usually wont start cuz there would be no fuel igniting.

Your FI light should NOT be on while the bike is running, If it is, That's a sign that there is something wrong.
You're fuel pump should only prime for about 2-3 seconds and then it should stop, If it doesn't than there might be something wrong with the wiring or the fuel pump itself. You don't need to start the bike and attempt to listen if it's still primming, It stops after 2-3 seconds while the bike is off..If it does not stop (bike not running) than there is something wrong.

It might be a bad solenoid or pressure regulator. I don't have the manual in front of me cuz I'm at work. It sounds as though the system is not building pressure so the pump keeps whirring away.  Pop the tank off and check if your mate wired it all up correctly and that all hoses are connected etc.

Download the manual for you bike here http://hondatech.info/downloads/Moto/

Download Foxit PDF reader here http://downloads.foxitsoftware.com/foxitreader/FoxitReader22.zip

Try to troubleshoot it and post your progress.
