first of all where? i am guessing in the middle of the tread.. me personally i would not trust a patch in a tire on a motorcycle just because you only have 2 tires.. dont want that patch to fail at 70mph on highway.. but dont throw it out.. get it patched and keep it for a spare or for a burnout video or something if that's your style

I would definitley ride a patched tire for a while if you can as long as its in the middle of the tread. If you have damage on the sides then HELL NO to the patch. I road a patched Dunlop on my 54 for over 6k miles and would've gone longer if I hadn't picked up another one. If you have the means to throw a new one on there no matter what then go ahead and replace it but it's definitely acceptable for most.

I remember asking this same question about a year ago, and getting the same answers, from the same people. I too, had a new set, with only about 500 miles on it, and caught a nail on the Highway. see link: http://www.cbrforum.com/m_259617/tm.htm

Ive rode a plugged tire for a long time, but I hear a patch is safer.

yea the nail is in the middle of the tire, but to hell with it 180 for a tire is not that bad if u look at it from my point of view! if u go down the damage will be more the $180, and lets not even think about how much is ur life worth!!!! all i got to say its going to be a long burn out...ill try to get in on video.......
