Well fellas, more bad news. I called today for an update, and the service manager said they couldnt find the problem after replacing the fuse, and riding the bike for 20 miles, it still did not blow. He told me that they took the bike apart and spent countless hours, I mean " countless hours" doing the wiggle test. He said he had to tell his technician to stop because the shop only charges me $85 for the diagnostic test, and he was working for free. Now, im like ****. The fuse wont blow now, but I bet it wont make it back to my house without blowing. I really feel stuck with a bike that I cant ride. If the HONDA service techs cant fix it, WOOOOOOOOOOOOOW. Like flavor flav would say. I told the mgr to keep looking, and I would pay an additional $250 for as much time as they will work on it. If this shit dont work, I dont know what to do. My mind keeps saying, "buy a new one", but for real, it aint really a bike out there that I want. The 08 CBR 1000 is ok, but I wouldnt want one, especially paying $2000 more for one here. I dont know fellas. If yall could call some of your local shops, maybe they have heard this problem before and have the easy answer. Im stumped, and will be tapping out soon. I wont pay over $500 for them to keep going and find nothing. There is no other place on island better than Honda supposedly.

What happened when it cut out? Bike cut off, or just loss of power? I bet that sucked

Update: I called them this morning and told them to check the reg/rec. They called me back saying that they checked it, and there is no evidence thas whats causing the problem, but they would change it if I wanted them to. The Article Brooklyn posted makes al lthe sense in the world to me. Its gonna cost $150 for the part, and $150 for the labor. This place charges $75 an hour. I was like, dude, that not a 2 hour job. I am really stuck fellas. I dont know what to do. I could let them do it, and pay, hoping that it was the problem, or not pay, ride home and break down on the way and wish I did let them at least try to fix it. At this point, im like **** the money, just get my shit right. I just dont wanna pay them $500, and the shit still doing the same shit. Gimme some feedback fellas. What would you do?

I would pull the bike outta there...Seems like they are stumped and that could get expensive. Is there another shop in your area?If you do decide to replace the r/r use on from a different source. My brother used a unit from a r1 because of the cooling fins. Keep you research up.someone out there has had this problem before

on old trick is to take an old light socket and bulb and attach 2 male spade connectors. plug the spade terminals into the fuse terminals of the fuse panel. in this way by moving the harness around and watching the light you can tell when the short occurs. the fuse blows because you have an overload in the circuit. generally speaking due to a short. a circuit needs 3 things power, load, and ground. without the load the fuse blows. turn the key on but dont ride the bike like this.

I tried the wiggle wire method, and so did the technicians. For some reason, it wont do it at Idle. I had the bike apart, and did this everyday for a week. I did replace the battery not too long ago, because it wouldnt hold a charge. I had it on the tender all night, it started right up, then I rode for 20 mins, let it sit for 10, and it was dead. I replaced the battery, and figured it was just time. Now she fires right up, no problems. Could there be a stator, reg/rec problem? The reg/rec is being replaced now, so next i'll look at the stator, if its still not right.

Hey, I am having the same exact problem with my bike, Have been trouble shooting it for a couple days, I have a brand new r/r and a good stator on mine and having the same issue so i dont think its there(although a bad or defective r/r could be the problem). if you can answer a few questions for me i can give you the info that i have so far... it is only when your running the bike at high speed/high rpm, correct? have you taken the casing for the kill switch and start button apart at all? Did your fuel pump have power after the blown fuse? do you have a bank angle sensor? (mine does not, it is rigged to by pass for stunts) My fuse only blows when i flip the switch to the run position with the key on, probably a short but i have not found anything yet ... So the problem is somewhere in that loop, the engine will still kick over when i press the start button but i do not get power to the fuel pump, im still review the wiring diagram to try to find something-Looking at the wiring its something along the lines of Battery ->30Amp main fuse->20Amp sub fuse-> engine stop relay-> after that relay(not sure about this, will have to look again) the power goes to another main relay and the fuel pump relay and the kill switch along with some other things. Im going to review it again tonight. But as of right now im stumped
