o man, i hate to hear all of this!!!!! I know just how you feel and it is the worst thing ever, i still dont even know if mine is fixed, gotta wait for parts. but I have all kinds of stuff for you to check and to toubleshoot so im going to stick with this thread till you get it fixed. I am honestly pissed that your problem was not solved, i wanted good news, and now, test, test, test, test, ive been doing it for three weeks, learning every day, thats all we can do.

Time to move on from the switch,,,,,,, start with the grounds, make sure they are solid as a ****in(is profanity accepted here??) rock. Test them with a light connected to a positive and then test them connected to a negative. that is a huge deal, my whole car would not start  because of a bad ground, we sanded the ground and the mount, put it back on and it ran perfect. Deff start with the grounds.

BTW, Negative to ground SHOULD show nothing on the light, if it lights you have a short there, positive to ground should spark and make the light glow.

you know what.... Better suggestion, dont even ****(sorry again if not accepted) with the grounds and all that shit, just get a whole new harness from a slavage shop( $75 dont pay anymore) or search ebay. if it does not fix your problem you can sell it right back and not lose a dime. I honestly would start there, you could search for the rest of your life and not find the short, as an engineering major i know, i blew off all the electrical shit but i know electricty can jump through small little breaks in a wire that you will never see in a million years, not likely but.... worth the money, helped me solve my problem(i hope) very quickly.

I got a guy from another forum saying that if there is a partial short in the fuel pump, it could cause a high current draw.  What do yall think?

It is in the loop that is giving us trouble, and a short there would blow the fuse, hoestly though i dont know where it would short at or why at the pump, if you have an extra or a friend with a 929/954, grab their tank and go for a spin with it....

I would deff look into it, Your blowing fuses when you get on the throttle so... I might be wrong about this, i will present both arguments, but when your getting on the throttle the fuel pump has to draw more power to get the proper ammount of fuel to the system and could be shorting somewhere because of that power surge.
BUT
From what i understand, The fuel pump does the same thing all the time no matter what, always has 12v going to it and never pumps harder or softer at any time, that is all controled by the pressure regulater located on the FI rail, In which case what i said above is completely wrong...

Someone help with this one?

yes, that would be nice, luckily for us, honda is the worst mfg out of all of them for wiring diagrams, Ive seen suzuki, kawi, yami, they are all nice but every honda manual i look in is just crap. If you find one and are able to scan it and post, hook us up, they are useful!

nope.  The bike just sits there.  It looks good doing that.  Havent really had time to mess with it.  Cant sem to find a correct wiring diagram, so I dont know where to start.  Thinking of just replacing the main wire like you said before.

Theres  a guy named 5150 over at the org that wrote this maybe you should shoot him a pm......

A couple fo years back had a wiring problem, engine keep on stalling/suddenly dies. When it happened it wil always blow a fuse. After few days of painstaking searching, me and buddies discovered that some wires were located on the right side (if we're on the bike) of the engine head thus melting the rubber insulated wires. Replaced the burned wires and relocated them.

Yes yes, That will happen very easily, Im wraping mine in insulation with tape around it when i put it back in.

Fireblades look good just sitting, but they look a hell of a lot better doing 150mph. Haha, yea those wiring diagrams are a crap shoot for sure, i gave up on trying to find one and started using a 929 diagram and peiceing it all together myself.

Replacing the main harness is allways a good start, it just eliminates a billion variables, and if it does not solve your problem then you know that its somewhere besides the main harness and you can sell the extra one for the same price as you bought it, check out ebay, if nothing else i can get them at my local shop for $75 a peice and ship one to you, $75 is not great but its not bad since it is right here in town and in stock. I dont like playing the waiting game for parts.

But getting the main harness is how i found my problem, after putting the new one in i knew it was either the headlight harness, one of the clipon controls, the ignition, or simple things like headlight or tail light, so i just unplugged the headlight, the tail light, turnsignals, leftside clip on switches and tried it again. Still blew the fuse so that narrowed it down to right side clipon switch or ignition, and then i found it. At least im still hoping so, waiting on parts to arrive still, i hate it.

I have a feeling that my problems are in the ignition.  Im having trouble getting the bolts loose.  I was using a size 6 hex, but it seem like one of those bolts that only tighten.  Any suggestions?
