Can anyone help, I am trying to self-service my cbr-125, have done most bits but when trying to change the oil filer I cannot get the gear cover off.  I have taken off all the screws, clutch wire and coolant tubes however it is stuck fast!

Also when i do get it off do I need to replace anything ? (ie gasket)

Thanks

as far as i know it's not that hard to open the cover, just undo the bolts, take off the clutch cable & coolant hose, then you can pretty much pull the cover off. there's really nothing to it.

my local shop has done much work involving opening the cover of Sonic 125 (identical engine to the CBR 125 except it's not fuel-injected) and CBR 150's with no problem at all. next time i'll ask one of my mechanics whether there's a way to make opening the cover even easier.
