Well i am beginning to do wheelies and stoppies and such and i have been lucky so far as to not having dropped the bike but i would like the ease of mind knowing that if i do drop it that it isnt going to seriously ruin anything.  So therefore i have been looking into crash cages and race rails.  I have come to the decision of either buying a SI cage or the Powers race railz and i dont know which is smarter to do?  Also i see subframe cages for sale. respectively how important are these if you already have either the full cage or the race rails.  Any imput would be much appreciated.  If you have another brand of cage or other advice i would be interested in hearing about it.

Thank you for your time and knowledge

I have an MXD street cage.  It's ok, but their customer service sucks big time.  Freestyle Ingenuity is something I'd rather have gone with...Just google the products for the latest prices.

Just recieved my F.I. cage in the mail I bought it used, Im not doing any crazy wheelies just yet, just practicing getting up on the one and getting it higher and higher each time so I figured should be safe and get the cage. My research showed most people (with f4i's at least) liking the SI and FI cage. I havent put mine on yet, hopefully be doing it this week then hopefully ill get the balls to actually try getting to the balance point.

Had the FI cage on my 929 stunter. It took a hell of alot of beatings. Eventually i 12'd a highchair (got to throttle happy), LoL...Anyways, bike made a few flips, denting gas tank and broke my flipped 636 clipon. Cage worked good, except for the fact that this time i broke the mouter mount bolt off into the motor...Had to get an easeout tool and fix it. But that was my only complaint...Cant really complain though, it did take a beating....=-)

PS: The SI cage is going on the ole ladies F4i

SI all day...FI sucks. my friend had one on his 636 and it bused the stator cover because where the struts connect to the cage, there is a big ass bolt and nut sticking out. Also FI is for more advance ppl who dont drop their shit a lot. SI can take one hell of a beating!! me and my friends pancake the shit out of bikes and cage holds up like a champ. last time i pancaked mine, i took a 3 inch chunk out of the concret and the cage was fine. also subframe cages make the subframe stronger but they aren't a must like a cage is.

whats the benefit of the full cage over just the race rails?  I mean when it falls isnt it going to be protected either way?

Rails vd full cage......Rails have only 2 mounting points. Where as the cage has 3 mounting points (depending on the name). Cage has a tendency to get in the way of street riding, IF u like to hang hard curves. I've nearly scraped the bottom of mine off. Which in return means the cage can be dangerous in some situations. Either way, ur taking a chance....IF the spill is bad enough, the rails or cage will do more damage, than if u would have not had them....They will grab and send the bike flipping head over heals......Both are ONLY good for slow impact crashes......IMO, a normal frame slider is just as good as long as ur not stunting.....=-)
