So Honda Australia are trying to clear the last of their blackbirds for almost half the RRP, and for that matter VTR1000's.

Has anyone heard any rumours about what mighreplacing them?t be coming

I wished Honda would put something out there to knock off the Hayabusa and ZX 1400. I am so damn tired of hearing about both of these hyper sport bikes, and they do have in their stable the CB1300 naked bike but it is no slayer. They would have to do some serious modification to get it up to CBR status. You know, I wouldn't care if they came out with a new V4 in a 1400 or 1500 something radical to set the world on fire like they did back in the early 80s. Anything would be appreciated. I do love the blackbird. But would greatly appreciate something that would spank these guys @ss everyday of the week. Regardless of altitude humidity or air temperature don't want there to be a shadow of a doubt as to the baddest bastard on the block is.

Give this CB 1300 engine, a serious upgrade
and
stick it in something like this with a six speed transmission

i'm glad someone understood what i meant.. i was at a net cafe and the computer screwed up... my sentance didn't end with english.

seriously though... its been a LONG time since the blackbird came out, I still LOVE the look of it, and it's a great bike (the tail could do with a tidy up) but now it's finished, and theres nothing to take it's place... no big sports tourer, and it seems like honda are the only ones not making one!
I heard there may be a V4 bike coming out, but nothing certain, and no spy pics. and now the VTR is gone too... so no honda twin!

personally i reckn the new cbr1000 looks like balls.... so really honda are starting to lack a LOT from their line up!

Just to have a big (VFR is only 800cc) sport-touring bike again would be nice.  The ST1300 bridges the 10000rr/Goldwing gap with absolutely nothing in between.  (And I am well-familiar with VF750 and Hurricanes being sportbikes.........)

I'm with you 100% on this I would personally like to see something between the 1000 rr and the ST1300.  In styling, and hopefully would outperform anything on the planet within reason.  Now days Honda seems to be more concerned with their other product lines and not pouring as much research and development into new projects in their motorcycle lineup they finally have staggered into corporate entity and have lost sight of their humble beginnings in some areas they are maintaining their lineup  but not with enough variety

i saw something today that honda have taken out a patent on an RVF1000 v4 for later this year. Also in the patent was the provision for a v5.... that would possibly mean a 1250cc V5 ...could this be the replacement?

There's been many rumours over the past few years 'bout the replacement. Looks like it's def. gonna be a 1200, but you know what, i'm tired of waiting for Honda to make an anouncement. At the end of the day, I'm so happy with my 'Bird that I've stopped caring. I've already got the best all round bike in the world, and lets face it, the new version will be lighter, with thinner plating etc. so will prob. fall to pieces after 1 Brittish winter. It will be 0.0235 secs faster 0-100, completely un-noticeable on the road. It will cost about £9K. It will have loads of useless electronic gadgetry to go wrong. We'll all have to buy new luggage racks, double bubbles, headlight covers etc. No spares available from the local scrappy. And if it's wider than my 01 model, it won't fit down the side of my house. I say rejoice fellow  owners. Present 'Bird good, change bad!!!!
