Anyone here besides me been in the store? What do you think. I have been there for several things and it just amazes me the people the hire to work behind the counter. They have no clue what they are doing. I went in, got a chain and wanted to also get a rivit type master link for it, which they keep behind the counter. I go up and ask for it, it takes they guy forver to find one bin which was nice and neat. Hands me a gold master link for a silver chain.....I hand it back saying I would like a silver one to match the silver chain, so he starts looking again, and hands me a 525 rivit link in silver, I hand it back, this chain is a 520 as it so LARGLY says on the box.....he looks again. Mind you about 5-10 min have gone by now....while waiting I see they have a new shipment of some tires in, some new model for sportbikes, another customer there askes another worker whats the deal with these tires. That worker goes and has to look around for a flyer or something to read off of b/c she has no idea. Of the few brands of tires they carry, i would think the workers should have to know a little about each other time in order to work there. Now back to the guy serving me, he says he does not have one, so I tell him I would like to order one and I would like it to be the factory RK master link for the 520XSO chain have sitting on the counter. I took him another 5 min to look up the link and get it ordered. I pay 15-20 min after I walk up to pay and leave. That was sunday. I call in today to see if the link is in, they look and say no, i ask when it will be in they say another week. ANOTHER WEEK?!! For a common master link? WTF. I am like okay call me when you have it. 5min later I get a call we have the link, so I go in to get it, they hand me a GOLD MASTER LINK. I just hand it back, to who I think was the owner of the store and explain I asked for a silver one because all you had was a gold on when I was here.....so now they are ordering a silver one.....ALL THIS OVER A MASTER LINK??!??!?!?! Also, I got into a debate with two of the store workers there about conventional oil mixing with synth. They were rock solid belivers in that you can't mix the two beucase it will harm the motor. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I asked to see if they could look up what weight my fork oil was, and they just told me I need to call my dealer for that. IMO, steer clear of Cycle Gear in a Allentown untill they get their shit straighted out.....I was turned down a weekend job there because they already had weekend shift workers....too bad they hired numb nutz that I think should not even be riding if they even ride at all. Maybe use the store to get things they have in stock already and just pay and get out, but even then their prices are not something that really draws me to the store, I was just in there b/c it is right on my way home.
