929 wheelies

Manny929 -> 929 wheelies (3/7/2008 9:49:22 AM)

Ok guys im new at this so i guess you can haze accordingly but i just bought a 2k 929 and i can only seem to wheelie out of first gear. clutching in first isnt a problem and of course power wheelies in first arent a problem either. I've read in other threads that a 929 should be able to do a "roll-on wheelie" in third gear. i cant even roll-on wheelie in 2nd. I have all stock gearing and i even tried stand up/staggered stanced, bouncing power wheelies and it still wont come up. whats the secret?

Stop doing power wheelies,they are dangerous,and pretty gay to.Clutch it up in 2nd

Manny929 -> RE: 929 wheelies (3/7/2008 10:46:10 AM)

i can clutch it up pretty easily but scared of flipping it backwards. Usually when i clutch it, it pops up about 3 feet then falls back down. i find it easier to drag wheelies when i stand up and bounce it but when i clutch it, my body tends to jerk back. for some reason, i dont jerk back with power wheelies. is this a beginners problem?

sounds like all beginner problems a 929 should have no problem at all doing any kind of wheelie... maybe u need to go down to a 6 with a pizza cutter... not trying to haze, just saying.

holy shit man I thought vortex went to 74. Is that a supreme or pepperoni? LOL

back to your question scoot your ass back against the tail section and clutch it up in second. I'm usually running 55 or 60 and don't pop the clutch let it out fast and  smooth. Make sure you have a damper it might get the shakes when you come down if you don't

OnOneWheel teaches power wheelies.  Why do they teach it that way if it's dangerous???

seldon929rr -> RE: 929 wheelies (3/10/2008 3:05:45 PM)

Everyone starts out doing power wheelies. it's safer with the clutch because you can learn what rpms are strarting to bring it up and how fast. when you feel it coming up to slowly you can still have enough gear left to give it more gas and bring it up higher. on a power wheelie your usually at peak rpm then you bounce and chase it to balance point. you run out of gear and by then you're hauling ass. I clutch mine up around 55 and can hold it at 70 to 75 and it feels good. I've done a couple power wheelies when I first got the 929 and by the time it got to where I wanted it I was on the limiter in 2nd which comes out to around 125mph

Power wheelies are unpredicatable. The bike is never is rarely in the same RPM range as ur last power wheelie. Thus means, u "think" u can give it some more throttle, LoL...Power wheelies will hurt ur azz in a jiffy. U gotta really fux up bad to make a clutch up come over on top of ur azz. Practice on a Fiddy or a lil 110cc, then move up to ur big bike.....=-)

My new practice stunter and yes it was brand new Satuday night, fresh out of the box....w00t!!!!

110cc will own ur azz.....=-) (Galfer Wave Rotors on a 110cc, hehe)

[sm=yikesomg.gif] OMFG thats the biggest sprocket i've ever seen...itsn't it hard to ride like that?  can your bike even go the speed limit on the highway?  You didn't also go down in the front did you?

ReSpEcT -> RE: 929 wheelies (3/14/2008 9:00:18 PM)

Most bikes have 6 gears, this one has about 4. IF your lucky enough to find 4th. Speed limit on the road, yeah u can find it. And you can hold a wheelie for as long as your please....=-)
