I'm planning on putting a Clutch kit in my bike tomarrow. I would like any tips or even a write up on this if anyone has one. The kit i got is a DPSK Street clutch kit. The guys at honda told me it was the way to go. it came with friction plates and springs. The reason i got it is beacuase my clutch slips at 11k and above. They also told me i would not need a basket. is that true? He said those almost never fail. Are the plates and srpings all i need? Are there no gaskets or seals? Also i noticed that one plate is  smaller. Does this go in the front, back ,middle?

thanks

There is a post on clutch installations. I replaced mine last summer. What was happening, when i was at higher rpms and ripped on the throttle, the rpms would go up, and the bike wouldn't go anywhere, so I put in a Barnett clutch. Carbon Fiber and Kevlar. I didnt think there was one that was smaller in my kit. Be sure to soak the new plates in oil for about 15 minutes before you put them in. Make sure they are all in the same order and direction when installing them, good luck.

Looks like that might be a good how-to to reference for it.  I can't speak of the similarity to the F4i, but considering it's a 600rr, I'd bet it's pretty similar.  Be sure to reference the manual.  I'd assume the pdf version floating around on the internet would have something about it.

I took mine out, and then put them back in.  I was seeing how everything went together before my new ones arrive.  My advice is make sure that you use a GOOD torque wrench on the bolts that hold the springs on.  I discovered that some torque wrenches don't do very good at 9 psi.  If you crank to much harder than that, the head will pop off pretty easily.  I believe that the one that is smaller goes in first.  And don't forget to put the last plate in the different grooves.

Here is another really good link to changing your clutch.
