I tried to talk myself out of this but I just couldn't help it.  This is the only U.S. sold paint scheme I never owned (until now).  I bought it a few months back and I'm finally getting around to it.  It's getting a complete, ground up rebuild and will end up very close to showroom condition with the exception of a few minor touches just to make it mine.

It'll have a rebuilt engine/trans, new chain & sprockets, bearings and all new plastics and tank plus anything else I find that needs replacing along the way.

I don't know about that but when my parts order crosses his desk I'll probably be put onto his Christmas card list.

I haven't had as much time to work on it as I thought but it's finally starting to come along.  I have the motor done and ready to go back in, that should happen this week.  I have all of the parts I'll need so, it should be pretty smooth sailing from here.

The tail light is about the only thing not being replaced....  I'll be getting rid of all of the fairings and tank but I'm more concerned about getting the bike done.  Once it's finished, I can use all the boxes from the new parts to ship off the used ones.  Hopefully, I'll get it together soon but I have a ton of stuff going on right now and this bike is pretty much the least important of them so I work on it during what little down time I have.

Got the engine back in and the wheels powdercoated.  Never understood why they used that matte gray for the original finish....  Basically I just need to find a few spare hours and it''ll be on the road.

Made some progress but it was ground to a halt.....  I opened the package for the left inner panel and it was wrong...  Had to send it back so I can''''t really do anything else until I get it.

Jeff1980,

The scoot is looking Very Nice. Give yourself a high five for the hard work.

Now I do see another in the back ground, so who is getting this one?

Thanks Guys!  That other one was a deal that presented itself while I had this one in pieces.  I''ve always had trouble turning down any chance to own anothe double R.  Anyway...It''s a great bike, I''ve been using it for a daily rider the past couple months.  It kinda sucks though in that I''m now used to seeing the yellow paint scheme so riding the finished project isn''t going to seem quite as special.  Kind of makes me wish I had gone with the black/red/white scheme for this one but I had already started ordering the yellow parts by the time I got the other bike...... Oh well.

Did you replace all the fairings \ body parts? if so I would be intersted in the upper fairings..the one that wraps around headlight..not sure what it is called. If the paint is in good shape.
