I am debating my projects for next winter already. I am thinking of getting the swingarm, frame and wheels powdercoated. I have had all the plastics and tank and swingarm off before. I am fairly mechanically inclined but what all is involved in stripping to a bare frame. How hard of a challenge is this going to be?

If u got it torn apart, take it to a shop and have it sandblasted off.

i think he means get it to a bare frame....meaning how hard is getting everything off...and further, putting everything back together...am i right...

i want to do my frame too, but the thought of tearing it all down...makes me cringe....i asked a place how much to strip down the bike AND PC the frame...they wanted $1800 so i will be doing it myself, just don't know when

It's not worth it.

You have to remove every nut, every bolt, every bearing, everything.

It seems like a pain to do but will be worth it.  I just polished my frame and swingarm this winter but didnt pull the motor out.  It is just time consuming to do but good luck with it when u decide to do it.
