Does anyone have a any suggestions for a nice looking tank protector for the 1000RR? Mine is only 1 month old and starting to scratch from contact with my leather jacket. Also, do all 1000RRs exhibit a loud clunk when shifting from neutral to 1st? All other shifts are nice and smooth. Kind of embarrassing at lights :).

All the reviews I read before I bought mine talked about the hard shift from neutral to first. Mine does it too. I think its pretty normal for a cassette type transmission. I'm not an expert, just relaying what I've read. Tank protectors are all personal preference. Later.

I just bought a 3M clear tank protector on eBay for $20. The protecting film is supposedly able to be reused if needed. I got an `05 and will post pics when it gets here in the next couple of days. The film covers the sides and the rear of the tank! Good Luck!
