So my roommate has decided that he is in the market for a bike... and he wants a Yamaha R6 Fiat replica to park beside my Repsol...this is the R1 but the R6 is exactly the same but with different logos. 

Anyway, I just wanted to see what you guys thought of the bike (forget about the rider) as a street bike.  Lots of speculation as to the crappy torque curve but otherwise any opinions?

I hear bad things about the daily rideability of Yami's. Plus, the R6's are ugly in most forms. They look like ugly bugs. I like the R1's though.

It's ok looking, but not the best looking bike I have seen.  For everyday use he might do alot better with the R6S

my friend got a 07 r6, and i personaly dont really like it !!! the engin does not get any kick till 10000 rpm.... tell him to get a r1.....

I am digging the R6S and may end up with one if I sell my F4.  To me it's the best bang for the buck.
